The player moves to a small town in Japan, and is due to start at the local junior high school. However on his/her first day they are somehow transported to a school in the UK, where they were 'expected' as the new exchange student. How they choose to act and how well they use the English language will affect their outcome, and possibly their survival. This is a game aimed at Japanese students learning English, and so there is a lot of Japanese used. This particularly occurs at the start of the game where the character is still in Japan. Note that the wordcount comprises of English words only, Japanese characters were not included.

Based off of "Tsuru no Ongaeshi," the Japanese folk story more commonly known as "The Crane Wife," this visual novel was made in less than 48 hours for Ludum Dare 24, August 2012, with Ren'py. In "Inu no Ongaeshi," you play a lonely freelance writer, if, with your lack of motivation, you can even call yourself that. One morning, you meet an injured dog in the forest- rather, a dog girl. A magical, evolving, speed-writing, food-conjuring, future seeing dog girl. Good luck with that. There are 2 bad endings, and 2… other endings. The main character is Ichigo Naro, upon arriving at school one morning Nanako (a friend) comes to him with a problem, she has lost her favorite bracelet and she believes it was stolen. Now it is up to him to find out who stole it, if in fact it was stolen at all. The story is pretty simple and the puzzle or mystery may be easy or difficult depending on your deductive ability.
